Fundraising Hints & Tips

Make Every Mile Matter!

The Llanelli 10K & Half Marathon is one of Carmarthenshire’s biggest fundraising events — and that’s thanks to runners like you.

We understand how challenging fundraising can be, so we’ve put together some simple, effective tips to help you smash your target. And don’t forget — your chosen charity is there to help with resources, encouragement, and ideas, so stay in touch with them too!

🎯 Top Fundraising Tips

1. Create Your Fundraising Page Early

Set up a page on JustGiving, GoFundMe, or your charity’s preferred platform. Get it live early so people can follow your journey from the start.

2. Add a Personal Touch

Upload a clear, friendly photo and share your personal story — why are you running? Who are you supporting? People give to people.

3. Set a Target

Give your supporters a goal to help you reach. A visible fundraising target can motivate more people to contribute.

4. Get Creative

Host a mini challenge (like running in costume!) to encourage donations. Make it fun, memorable, and shareable.

5. Share Often

Use social media, email, and messaging apps to share your page. Don’t be afraid to post updates and thank donors — it shows appreciation and inspires others.

6. Document the Journey

Post training pics, videos, and milestones. Let your supporters see your commitment — they’ll be more likely to donate and share.

7. Celebrate the Finish

Post those sweaty, smiling finisher photos! Donations often keep coming after race day, especially when people see you crossed the line.
